Platoon

Platoon

The gameplay is very challenging. The enemy AI is well coded and they start showing it as you progress further in the game. While the initial two VCs that you’ll encounter are a snap to dispatch to their heathen gods the next bunch are going to be tougher nuts to crack. Mission objectives can vary from mission and to mission and provides a wide variety of challenges to keep you occupied. There is a pool of six soldiers available for you to select a two-man team in order to accomplish mission objectives. Digital Bridges did a good job of making each soldier unique and their special talents do come in handy. Choices range from your typical grunt a sharp shooting sniper and the obligatory medic. Sometimes mission will require you to select a default team in order to accomplish the objective however there are opportunities such as missions which will allow you to select the team you really want without penalizing you by making the mission objective impossible to complete by not using a required character. The controls really remind me a lot of Dungeon Storm and take some getting used to. It is a bit unwieldy on a Nokia 7610 and a lot of times I feel frustrated enough to stop playing in order to recover my wits. However the game is good enough that I find myself going back to play it again after an hour or so.
